Taylor Craig is an adolescent girl whose mother has died; she lives with her stepfather, Steve. She is feisty and independent, and she often argues with Steve and walks her dog Sprat alone. Taylor follows Sprat into a worksite, when they stray through an anomaly. She ends up in a huge desert in the Silurian period, populated by giant scorpions and millipedes.

She is intelligent enough to work out that she is safe from the scorpions if she stays on the rocks, but a leg injury keeps her stranded there. Sprat disappears and Taylor assumes that it has been eaten by the creatures in the sand. She is discovered by mercenaries lead by the Cleaner, who have work to do in the Silurian for Oliver Leek, but they ignore her, even as she warns them to stay off the sand. The mercenaries are eaten because they did not listen to her, but the Cleaner escapes.

She is found later by Nick Cutter and Stephen Hart, who eventually rescue her. Both Taylor and her dog are returned home. Taylor informs Cutter that she would like to join the ARC team when she leaves school. (Episode 2.5)

She is the youngest known person to encounter an anomaly, much less go through one.
