History
Edit
The Precambrian lasted from the formation of Earth to 542 million years ago, and contained three eons: the Hadean, the Archean and the Proterozoic. These were decent and deadly eons, the environment was hostile, and was perfect for an imaginable worm to thrive in.
At that time, Earth was mostly underwater and the atmosphere was high in sulphur and carbon dioxide. Worms thrived here and grew to giant sizes. It is unknown how the Worms evolved to be able to breath in this air.
In Primeval
Edit
Episode 2.2
Edit
An Anomaly to the Precambrian opened in an Inner City Office Block in the present day, and the Precambrian atmosphere and dozens of Precambrian Worms came through. The Worms were killed when high temperatures forced the Precambrian gas out of the building.
Episode 5.5
Edit
During Convergence in 2011, an Anomaly to the Precambrian opened up in an Infant School classroom, and the Precambrian atmosphere and an unknown number of Precambrian Worms came through into the classroom. The Worms were presumably either returned through the Anomaly or killed by one of the ARC teams.
Trivia
Edit
- This is the furthest back an Anomaly has ever opened.
- The Precambrian fog is darker in Series 5 than in Series 2.
