Dodos are flightless birds famously known for becoming extinct in the 17th Century, due to Rats and hunting by Dogs and Humans.

FactsEdit

The Dodo (Raphus cucullatus) is a flightless bird endemic to the Indian Ocean island of Mauritius. Related to pigeons and doves, it stands about a meter tall, weighing about twenty kilograms, living on fruit and nesting on the ground. The Dodo has been extinct since the mid-to-late 17th Century. It is commonly used as the archetype of an extinct species because its extinction occurred during recorded human history, and was directly attributable to human activity.

Episode 1.4Edit

A flock of five Dodos, at least two of which were carry Parasites, travelled through the Spaghetti Junction to Matchroom Stadium in the present day. They were all returned, except for the two infected Dodos. One died from the Parasite before it could return through the Anomaly to the Spaghetti Junction, while the second was stolen by Connor Temple's friends, Duncan and Tom, and dubbed by Duncan Dodi.

Tom and Duncan took Dodi back to their apartment, where it bit Tom, passing the Parasite onto him. As Dodi began to become increasingly vicious and aggressive due to the Parasite's influence, Duncan locked the Dodo in his bedroom. There, Dodi eventually died from the Parasite. Its body was recovered by the Home Office team, and taken to the Central Metropolitan University by Abby Maitland for a post-mortem. Abby and Tom later took Dodi's body with them back to Matchroom Stadium.

TriviaEdit

Of all the creature incursions, the Dodos are the most recently extinct, dying out in the 17th Century whereas most other encountered creatures from the past went extinct thousands - millions of years ago. Due to this, they are also the only non-human creatures from the past encountered that are not prehistoric.
Tom and Duncan called the Dodo they captured Dodi.
This is the first animal to be a host for a parasitic creature.
