The Anomaly Opening Device is the device which Helen Cutter uses to travel to different time periods. It can open and close anomalies. It was found in the future with the artefact. When used with insufficient power it will cut out, as discovered by Connor Temple. When fully operational the anomaly matrix will appear on the touch screen. We can suppose that the Anomaly Opening Device will be created by the ARC, because the symbol of the ARC can be seen on it, and also by fact, that the team found whole crate of them in the Future ARC.

Episode 3.9Edit
While the rest of the ARC team tried to deal with the threat of a Embolotherium herd attacking a Campsite, the anomaly to the Eocene closed, just as Danny and Eve, actually Helen Cutter in disguise, arrived after he rescued her from Christine Johnson. Four female Embolotherium and a male were still in the present. As the creatures charged to the campsite, Eve used the Anomaly Opening Device to open the anomaly right in front of the charging herd, which ran straight through. When the last Embolotherium had gone through, she closed the anomaly with a touch of a button.
Episode 3.10Edit
Helen revealed her true identity and made her way through the anomaly in Christine Johnson's Headquarters to the Future City, before closing it behind her. When the ARC team caught up with Helen at the Future ARC, Helen used the Matrix from The Artefact to give her directions on how to travel to Site 333 in the Pliocene, as the Matrix was a map of every single anomaly which has appeared. She then opened the anomaly in the Future ARC to the Cretaceous Forest, as the forest contained an anomaly leading to Site 333. Helen dropped the Device after she went through the anomaly to Site 333.
Episode 4.1Edit
Twelve months later, Connor found Helen's device in a Dromaeosaurus nest. Although it was damaged and Abby told him not to bother, thinking it was useless, Connor used the device to open an anomaly back to the present. After arriving back, the anomaly was locked with the Anomaly Locking Mechanism. Connor tried to close the anomaly to show off to Matt Anderson, but the damage caused the device to unlock the anomaly instead, letting through a Spinosaurus that was hunting him and Abby. The ARC team later corraled it to an Arena where Connor inadvertently saved the day by dropping the device into it's mouth, opening an anomaly inside it and thus imploding it from within. This anomaly closed almost instantly after opening.
TriviaEdit
- This device might be a handheld version of the New Dawn device Connor built. The difference however is the Anomaly Opening Device can only open anomalies on certain spots where a natural anomaly would occur. The New Dawn device can open an anomaly at any spot anywhere.
- Abby and Connor were able to use Helen's device to return to the present however Helen wasn't seen downloading an anomaly to the present onto the device. This either means that she downloaded all the anomalies onto her device or she downloaded the present as well if she wasn't killed after killing all the hominids, she could return to the present to see what the world became without humans.
